National Day of Prayer

I wanted to share the following prayer a new friend of mine wrote.

For Our Country

Lord do not forsake us. Hear our plea
Our country has great need of Thee
Throughout the land so many shun
The saving message of Thy Son
Yet from the start this land was Yours
You sowed its seed from distant shores
You've guided it through every strife
And blessed its faith, its way of life
Now worldly souls from east to west
Live a godless life they feel is best
Lord in faith we ask of Thee this prayer
That beseeches Thee this country spare
We pledge to sin we shall not yield
Trusting through His scars and stripes
Our land be healed.
